Marbled Glass Ornaments Will Dazzle

Port Ludlow Artists' League October meeting: Marbled Glass Ornaments by Mary Lynn Laker

Marbled Glass Ornaments

The Port Ludlow Artists’ League’s own Mary Lynn Laker demonstrates how to make marbled glass ornaments at the Wednesday, October 18, 2017, program.

The marbling process produces gorgeous ornaments and yet is easy to do. Mary Lynn will guide us through the step-by-step instructions so everyone will create their own unique beautiful ornament to take home. All materials are provided.

Mary Lynn is a long-time active member of the Port Ludlow Artists’ League. She currently serves on the board of directors where she administers The League’s scholarship program for Chimacum School graduates. She is an accomplished, self-taught artist who’s exhibited her work throughout the area.

The Port Ludlow Artists’ League Program Meeting is at the Beach Club, Wednesday, October 18, at 1:00 p.m. Guests are welcome to attend the program and social time. A guest fee of $5 may be paid at the door.

The Eyes Have It – A Primer for Increasing our Visual Literacy Quotient

 Allan Zee

Distinguished fine art photographer Allan Bruce Zee will present a discussion on ways to enhance visual experience when looking at art specifically, and the world around us in general at the November Port Ludlow Artists’ League program.  In presenting examples of his extraordinary photography, he will suggest ways to engage in “seeing” rather than merely “looking.”

Over the past 43 years, Allan’s prints have been shown nationwide and are included in numerous private, public and corporate collections around the world including Ansel Adams’ collection at the Center for Creative Photography in Arizona, World Bank,

Apple Computer, Intel, the University of Washington Hospitals, and the public collections of the State of Oregon and City of Portland among many other collections.

Allan’s imagery emerges from travels throughout the United States, Europe, Mexico, Japan, Bali, Tahiti, and South Africa.

He has happily resided in Port Townsend for the past 8 years, after 30 years in Portland, Oregon. Allan was born in Chicago, Illinois, where his first artwork was exhibited at the age of 12 at the Art Institute of Chicago.

The program meeting is at the Beach Club on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, 1:00 p.m.  The public is welcome to attend the program and social time for $5.  New members are always welcome.
